Ah dinnae ken what a' this blether aboot the al Scots tongue 
his tae dae wi' this wee bit grun cried Ulster. Sure a bhoy wid 
tell ye, gin a shilling forbye in hees han' , that nocht but they 
folks hae ocht tae dae wi'it. And noo there's a gran' thing for 
naebody telt me that at the skil or in the playgrun or the pub.
For ye ken not the helf o' it.
Here yees are grovelin at the taes o' a tongue oot fae whence 
come yer ain fethers. Erse and kennt as the like in 
Scotland 'till but twa hunner year ago. And yees are that 
contrary and crabbit that ye hae missed the fu' pint o'it. W'r 
tongue is what was gaen us. It is no a tongue for sake o' a'

barterin' wi'. Sure shame on yees. It gans tae my shoon, it 
turns my een, sharpens my lugs, directs my neb and is the 
very watter that taks the drouth oot o' life.
Sure if I read anither gowpit line oota ye glypes like dugs

boke.

I felt the urge to learn come more scots after reading Alec 
Forbes (The Maiden's Bequest) by George MacDonald for a 
second time. This is a very neat place!

Maybe somebody can help me. I'm Corine from Holland. 
(Excuse me for my bad English). We are going te raise (??) 
dogs; the West Highland White Terrier, and we are searching 
for a name (not the name of 1 dog, but I dont know how you 
call it, in dutch it is kennel). Because the westie come from 
Argyll, we want a fitting scottisch name. We like the 
Highlands very much en also like stormy weather. So a name 
with something as "glen" in it, or ??? Who can help me?? 
And the second problem is: how do I pronounce it??? If I get 
an answer, please in easy English ?? Thank you very much.
