Hello,
Very interesting website! The distiction between language and 
dialect is i tricky one. A doctoral thesis (from Sweden, 
Uppsala university) argued that the swedish dialect spoken in 
Finland (by ca 300.000 people) is a different language. You 
find differences of course, but nordic linguistics still call it an 
eastern dialect of swedish. I looked up this website as a 
preparation for a visit to Dunoon, European People´s Festival 
22-29 July, 2000. See you there.
