Your site has been helpful, of course I still have a long way to go. Am trying to learn some key phrases so my daughter can send a card to her brother in Kilmacolm. If you have other helpful hints or sites I would be verra happy! Thanks, Samantha

found out about this wonderful sight thru Scots on the net-the pub room. I could read it all for hours:)!!! I really want to learn to speak scots gaelic. It seems hard to understand the twists and turns, though this lass may just be making it harder than it really is? Any suggestions would be so appreciated!! If you have any ideas for this thick headed scotswoman (laugh) than email me. a thousand welcomes!! ( I know its said better in gaelic but I know not how, YET:)!!!!!!

My father belongs to the Clan Donnachid. He recently, over the past 3 years has been researching and learning as much as he can about his/our heritage. He has his tartan, Claymore, skighn duggih (? sp...please forgive the horrible spelling...I am trying to learn too!), a very large celtic cross tattoo, and a fine collection of Scottish "treasures". I really enjoyed your site! My father does not want to insult anyone and is very concerned about learning Scottish do's and dont's....He has the books, and has talked many times with his clan members who always tell him that he worries too much. so it was good to come across your site, with the pronounciations to practice with in the privacy of your own home, etc.. Keep up the good work! I can't wait to show this site to my father! Lang mey yer lum reek Lari Kisner
