hello and keep up the good work!! Excuse my English, I have, after looking over your pages noted quite a number of detractors of "Scottish Language" from both Scots and non Scots and I would like to make a few points. 1. There has never as far as I know been a rationalisation of spelling of the Scottish language. 2. We don't appear to have a reliable and consistent dictionary of scots. My last bit (neerly feenished) would you all think on the following sentance; "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SCOTTISH LANGUAGE" -- The first seven words in this sentance all come from the follwing in order of age youngest first.... Old English/Old Frisian and on down to Gothic and before. The word "scottish" I believe has latin roots. The word "Language" I believe comes from Latin via Old French. By the perverse logic of our Scots language detractors does this mean that there is no such language as "English"? All the best to everyone. Tam
